Dr Libby Sallnow is a palliative medicine consultant with CNWL NHS Trust in London, UK and is an honorary senior lecturer at St Christopher's Hospice and the UCL Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Department. Her research interests include compassionate communities and the new public health approach to end-of-life care. She has published articles and book chapters in this field, co-edited the book "International perspectives on public health and palliative care" in 2011. Her PhD explored the impacts of compassionate communities in practice (2018). She has supported the development of the international movement in new public health approaches, is an honorary consultant at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Community Participation in Palliative Care in India and is a commissioner for the new Lancet Commission on the Value of Death. She is research lead for Public Health and Palliative Care International (PHPCI) and vice chair of the UK chapter.
